The short version. Interval collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and no advertising. The app makes no network requests. Everything you put into it stays on your device.
What is stored, and where
Interval keeps your practice sessions, notes, ratings, recordings and settings in the app's own storage on your device. None of it is sent anywhere, and the developer has no way to see it.
The microphone
Interval asks for microphone access so the tuner and chord recognition can hear your guitar, and so you can record voice memos during a session.
- Audio for the tuner and chord recognition is analysed on the device, moment to moment, and is never written down or transmitted.
- Voice memos are saved to the app's storage on your device. They are deleted when you delete the recording, or when you discard the session they belong to.
- The microphone is only used while a screen that needs it is open.
Notifications
If you set a daily reminder, it is scheduled locally by your device. No reminder passes through a server, and none is sent unless you set one.
Backups
You can export your journal to a file. That file is created only when you ask for it, and it goes wherever you choose to send it — your Files app, iCloud Drive, an email to yourself. Interval does not upload it anywhere. Once the file leaves the app, it is covered by the privacy policy of whatever you saved it to.
Backups contain your sessions, notes and settings. They do not contain your recordings.
Data collected by the developer
None. No usage statistics, no crash reporting, no identifiers, no contact details. Apple may share aggregate download and crash figures that cannot identify you; that is Apple's reporting, not something the app sends.
Third parties
Interval has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party services. Nothing about you is sold or shared, because nothing about you is collected.
Children
Interval is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Deleting individual sessions and recordings, or clearing everything at once from Settings, removes them from the device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for instance if a future version adds an optional account or a purchase — the date at the top will change and the new terms will be described here before the feature ships.
